Eidos has today announced that PlayStation 3 users of Tomb Raider: Underworld will be able to download a Trophy Patch as from next Thursday, May 28th. Trophies are not retroactive, so players will have a reason to experience the adventure all over again. Though the list of trophies and their requirements has not yet been disclosed, we suspect they might be quite similar to the trophies of the Japanese version - which, in turn, are based on the Xbox 360 Achievements.
Tomb Raider: Underworld was released on all major platforms in November 2008. The adventure, developed by Crystal Dynamics and published by Eidos Interactive, sees Lara Croft uncovering different underworlds in her quest for the mythical Mjolnir.
Eidos has released to the online Tomb Raider communities a new Doppelganger artwork - previously featured on the official strategy guide. The Doppelganger is a creature created by Lara's archenemy to end the Croft lineage, faster and more dangerous than Lara Croft herself.
Despite having played a rather small role in Tomb Raider: Underworld, the Doppelganger eventually earned herself a downloadable level where players could control her and the shadow powers at her disposal. 'Lara's Shadow' was released exclusively on Xbox Live in early March.

We've been told and seen briefly in the developer diary the ability to use the lead character's shadow power to control time and aggresively progress through the game, but now Eidos offers us two gameplay vignettes to fully analyse the new mechanics.

This all new level allows players to fully take control over the Doppelganger, the deadly creation of Natla that not only matches but surpasses Lara Croft herself in a number of aspects. Players can unleash deadly melee combos and travel through environments at ludicrous speeds using the Doppelganger's shadow power.
